Our lovely French assistant, Judith, had her last day today and we are very sad to see her go back to France to finish her studies. We celebrated by eating brioche and playing french games such as; ‘un, deux, trois, soleil’! We wish her the very best and we hope she will come and visit us soon.

We had a lovely day celebrating Eid with our Muslim friends. I loved the food and learning about the different things that people do on the day.

Victorian Watercolours

I was blown away by the Victorian children watercolours that the children did to conclude our topic. They chose a sepia pallet to give them an aged look and I think they turned out beautifully!

We have also aged some paper with a coffee wash on which to mount these lovely paintings. This will ensure that their mill children diaries have a fabulous front cover! Well done class 7!

Classes 7 and 8 had the most fantastic time at Quarry Bank Mill on Friday. We learnt a lot about how children were treated in Victorian times and also what the conditions were like for people working in the mill.  I hope the children now appreciate how lucky they are to have the comfortable lives that they do!
